It's Lower Body Day

How to Stay Healthy While Staying Home

With all the changes going on in the world today, many of us are passing more time in our houses. It can appear hard to stick with a healthy lifestyle when your gym in Overland Park is closed.

You might have changed into the principal, personal chef, and parent in your household. Maybe you are working from home for a time and hoping to create some organization during your day.

In these unusual times, it can be easy to stay on the couch, checking the news and mindless shows, and slowly giving up on a normal workout routine. We may be stranded at home, but we can always generate ways to preserve a healthy lifestyle! Take a look at our preferred effective practices you can incorporate into your current everyday routine to be active, promote your immune system, and create momentum toward attaining your wellness intentions.

Incorporate Home Workouts

One positive aspect of spending extra time at home is the added space in your day-to-day schedule. Look at your routine. Where can you find a few minutes for an at-home workout? An awesome sweat session doesn’t need to go for hours to make a difference. As long as your heart rate escalates, you will create fat and calorie-burning advantages! Take a look at our 12-minute home fitness class you can complete anytime, anywhere!

Have Your Kids Join Your Workout

The pools may not be open, but there are still almost endless ways to add fun activities your little ones will like. After all, being active isn’t just for grownups! Here are a selection of our favorite fun (and free!) ways your family can get together:

  • Take a nice, long walk
  • Bring a frisbee outside in the sun (hello Vitamin D!)
  • Head out for a bike ride or roller skate adventure
  • Form a floral arrangement with your outdoor flowers
  • Play ball in the yard
  • Find your sidewalk chalk and draft a driveway masterpiece
  • Have a dinner cooking contest
  • Turn on the tunes and have a dance competition

Make Healthy Meals

Are you attempting to stay out of the grocery store? That works! This is the time to get creative in the kitchen and include your available canned goods and frozen foods. With the kids away from school, busy days working from home, and the usual household chores, keep your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners easy this season.

At FXB, we make good nutrition simple for our members. Grab your favorite protein type from the freezer, select a carb for your side, and include some healthy fat. And there you go: a healthy meal with no fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, order a pizza and unwind!)
